The Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show
THE GREAT ALASKAN LUMBERJACK SHOW
Millard + Associates Architects has worked with the popular Great Alaska Lumberjack Show to expand their outdoor show facilities in Ketchikan over the past ten years. The current facility has covered grandstand seating for 700, an outdoor show arena, and support buildings for ticketing, retail and office uses. All buildings are of heavy timber construction. Based on the success of this facility, M+AA worked closely with the Owner on the schematic design for a 31,000 sf Lumberjack Show theater with seating for 1,000 that was recently constructed in Tennessee.

LUMBERJACK SPORTS INTERNATIONAL
In 2010, M+A Architects was selected to develop the building program and schematic design documents for the Lumberjack Feud, an indoor version of the Great Alaska Lumberjack Show to be constructed in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The 31,128 SF building features a lobby and ticketing area, retail store, logging museum, and support spaces for a 1,000 seat dinner theater with a 3-dimensional theater set of an Appalachian mountain logging camp featuring a pond and waterfall. The facility, constructed in 2011, has been a great success and has entertained and educated thousands of visitors on the history of the timber industry in the area.
